Is this necessary ?
I'll spill anyways.
As much as I love my hair permed, I admire naturalistas a LOT. Like a whole lot! But, I can’t RELATE.
While I was growing up, my hair was pretty much natural but it was extremely strong and very sharp. Each time I went to make my hair in our neighborhood my hair braider had one or two things to say and she never missed a chance to say ‘your hair dey cut my hand o'. Often times, my hair was tagged razor hair by those who knew my hair texture. I was upset as a child because, hair no suppose strong like this o. Soon, my aunt started braiding my hair during weekends and complained about my hair cutting her too. The struggle continued without solution.
I really can't remember when I started perming my hair but I clearly recall that in 2010 when I left for boarding school, my hair was already permed. I basked in the euphoria of my hair's new texture. I starting loving the new texture my hair maintained due to the use of relaxer, it became longer and soft although scantier. I was happy and I forgot what it was like to carry my natural hair around. Now in my 20s, I’ve seen and met a lot of people; family, friends and strangers keeping and maintaining their natural hairs as if their lives depended on it. It's so beautiful to see. Most times, I wish they were mine. I meannnn who wouldn't? Look at these. Just negodu fine hair nau.

Now, more than ever, I crave a soft, healthy and lengthy natural hair and fineee locs. BUT,
I can’t have locs on a permed hair.
Being a naturalista requires a lot; at least that's what I hear.
I suck at decision making. I'm also not certain that’s what I want.
I might just be bored and over thinking things as per Tinkerbell.
Gradually sha, I'll genuinely know if I want to be Team Natural Hair or Team Permed Hair until then I won't make any alterations.
I also don't know what this post means. But if it made sense to you after reading, Fine, Alhamdulillah. If it didn't, my sincere apologies and you’d understand why the title is saying “Is this necessary?”.
Thank you for reading.
Bye,
Fauza.

As someone with natural hair which is not as fine and lengthy as those in the pictures, the only reason I haven't relaxed my hair is because my hair is really sensitive and has potential to get really damaged by relaxers. I actually want to have locs with my hair but I'm not sure if that's what I really want or I'm just bored at the moment and obsessed with locs. I'm giving myself a year, if by this time next year I'm still into locs, I'm definitely getting it then.
Natural hair is not for the weak sha!🥲🥲
